Eligibility
Indian PIs must be working in a regular capacity in universities, academic institutes, national R&D labs, or private non-profit institutions. A Japanese counterpart PI is mandatory. PIs cannot be retiring during the project.
Description
The Department of Science and Technology (DST), India, and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) conduct the India-Japan Cooperative Science Programme (IJCSP) to promote bilateral scientific collaboration. Support is available for Joint Research Projects (up to 2 years) and Joint Workshops/Seminars in scientific areas including Life Science & Agriculture, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematics, and more. Funding primarily covers international exchange visits (travel, accommodation, per diem) and a contingency grant. For workshops, the budget limit is Rs 10 lakhs.
